Since February 2020, when the corona pandemic broke out, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, in line with the policies of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, has carried out extensive treatment actions in this field in Isfahan province, some of which are presented below:
- Establishment of 47 intensive care centers of Covid to where symptomatic patients are referred, sampled, treated on an outpatient basis and referred to the hospital if necessary.
- Phone follow-up of Covid-19 patients six times during the illness and ensure their recovery
- Issuing licenses for clinical care centers at home and sending home care teams for patients who cannot leave the house.
- Management and supervision of supply and distribution of pharmaceutical and health items throughout the province and their quality evaluation. These activities include: How to supply and distribute Covid-specific medicines, issuing production licenses and supervising the production of disinfectants and personal protective equipment, as well as managing and supervising the supply and distribution of these items in hospitals, health centers and pharmacies.
- Cooperating with WHO to receive donated equipment, coordinate with the Red Crescent to use the potential of that organization in sending aid and attracting and receiving donations and social support in cash and non-cash
- Receiving and handling complaints related to non-compliance with tariffs, non-respect of clients, medical services or non-compliance with personal protection protocols by medical centers
- Extra care services to patients in Covid crisis situations, such as the presence of mental health experts in hospitals for emotional and psychological support and counseling with medical staff, distribution of support packages, masks and alcohol to the needy patients, the presence of a senior nutritionist to train and supervise the cooking of diet foods in hospitals
- Preparation of provincial instructions to create unity of procedure in the treatment of Covid patients in medical centers and hospitals
- Comprehensive planning for the treatment of Covid patients and the time and manner of participation of all university and non-university hospitals in providing services to Covid patients and allocating and providing hospital resources, beds and treatment staff to patients so that the highest therapeutic efficiency to be achieved; Also, designate provincial focal points and scientific observers to prepare instructions for the implementation of this policy; Examples of such actions are: needs assessment and planning to use the capacity of medical staff, specialists, nurses and volunteers in medical centers and hospitals, licensing of numerous ICU beds in hospitals in critical conditions, supply of many vital devices such as ventilator, vital signs monitor, wavy mattress, serum injection pump, pulse oximeter, video laryngoscope, bypass, CPAP, Microvent, Portable Suction, CT Scan, MRI, Angiography, fixed and portable radiography, ultrasound and echocardiography, oxygen generators and liquid oxygen tanks and supply of personal protective equipment to medical centers
