The Medical Library and Information Sciences Department was established in 1992 when the faculty was established. Libraries and Information centers, research centers, specialized journals, publishing centers and health sciences centers have important responsibilities that require training for peoplewith different levels of proficiency and skills. The general purpose of the department is to educate specialized human resources for libraries and information centers. The Department of Library and Information Science seeks to set the scene for such issues as the important role of the library in the development of science and knowledge in the community, especially in the field of health, educational and research needs of library users, procurement and selection of required resources, cooperation with research and treatment teams as well.
