About Anesthesiology Department

The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care established in 1977 by Professor Bordbar and Professor Rahimi. Soon after beginning, a training course for new anesthesiologist founded and majorities of the department graduates obtained national board of anesthesiology.

The MUI Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care provides state of the art and sophisticated perioperative and intensive care of patients referred to Al-Zahra, Kashani, Feize, Khorshid, Imam Hosein, Beheshti Medical Centers. Our anesthesiologists, intensivist, and pain management team are responsible for providing care to patients of different agesand physical status referred to university hospital from central provinces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The department has a comprehensive program for the education of anesthesia residency and various fellowship applicants in different subspecialties of anesthesiology including intensive care, neurosurgical anesthesia, pediatric anesthesia, cardiosurgical anesthesia.

The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care is the main body for determining anesthesia and critical care management policies and adoption of national and international guidelines to the local needs of the Isfahan province. All undergraduate and post-graduate program of anesthesiology and critical care are developed and supervised by the department.

The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care also give appropriate medical and institutional consultation regarding different aspects of perioperative and intensive care of the patients to various medical disciplines.

Each year between 10 to 15 anesthesiologist graduates from The Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care and send to countries medical centers to provide care. The department has a 4-year residency program with detailed curriculum and evaluation programs. Upon successful completion of the residency program if they are eligible, will refer to the National Board of Anesthesiology. According to the University needs and if there are free positions, annually between one and two new academic people add to the department
