The School of Advanced Technologies in Medicine was established in 1999, as a department of Physics and Biomedical Engineering within the School of Medicine. The department is then promoted to its current stature as “School of Advanced Technologies in Medicine” in 2012. School of ATiM includes four departments of Bioelectrical Engineering, Biomaterial Engineering, Bioinformatics and Medical Imaging Technology offering education at MSc, & PhD levels.
At the beginning of the establishment, long term strategic expansion plans of School of ATiM was establishing different Research Groups in order to fill the university and industry gap. Currently, the following groups in the field of Endoscopic Image Analysis, Microscopic Image Analysis, Bioinformatics, Brain and Neuroscience, Ocular Image Analysis, Acoustic Data Analysis and Cardiovascular have been established and are being developed.
