Overview

The School of Advanced Technologies in Medicine was established in 1999 as a department of Physics and Biomedical Engineering within the School of Medicine. The department was then promoted to its current stature as “School of Advanced Technologies in Medicine” in 2012. School of ATiM includes five departments of Biomedical Engineering (Bioelectric), Biomedical Engineering (Biomaterials), Tissue Engineering & Nanotechnology, Medical Imaging Sciences and Technologies, Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence in Medical Sciences, offering education at MSc, & PhD levels.

At the beginning of the establishment, long term strategic expansion plans of School of ATiM was establishing different Research Groups in order to fill the university and industry gap. Currently, the following groups in the field of Endoscopic Image Analysis, Microscopic Image Analysis, Bioinformatics, Brain and Neuroscience, Ocular Image Analysis, Acoustic Data Analysis and Cardiovascular have been established and are being developed.
