District Health Centers have the overall responsibility for delivering primary health and treatment services across the district. Their main responsibilities include:

• Supervision of the health and treatment units, evaluation of the quality of services ,and regular inspection of health and treatment units
• Health training
• Implementation of programs in the field of family planning and health, school health, disease prevention and control, environmental health, occupational health, oral and dental health, collection of health data and statistics
• Interdisciplinary coordination

There are currently 20 health districts across Isfahan Province, two of which are in Isfahan District and operate under the supervision of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences.
