As one of the oldest scientific institutions in Iran, Isfahan University of Medical sciences and Health Services (IUMS) has been a pioneer in medical education and research, as well as delivery of health and treatment services in the country.

The University has achieved remarkable accomplishments inthe delivery of health services across the vast expanse of the health network which wa created in 1985 with the integration of medical education and health services provision in the country.

IUMS has been a pioneer in educational innovation and development of modern cientific curricula in the country.

Research constitutes the core of our vision for overcoming health challenges of our era; on the same note we place special emphasis on problem-based community-oriented Given the increasing trend of non-communicable diseases in developing countries, IUMS has launched serious efforts to stem the rise in the prevalence of such diseases in the region through implementing action-oriented community-based interventional programs. Isfahan Healthy Heart Program (IHHP) is one example of such efforts.

IUMS covers a population of nearly 4 million in Isfahan Province. Health and treatment services are provided to this population through rural and urban health center run by IUMS.

Specialty and commitment are inextricable virtues which constitute the foundation of Islamic and religious teachings and are thus of cardinal importance in all of the operations of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences.

We know we must be true to the essence of a university - a place where the search for truth can go on unhindered by impediments of varying nature. This is the unique role we have been granted, one we must carry out if we are to have a present worth preserving and a future worth our hope.
